Constant Current LED Drivers

Image
LED Drivers LED has enjoyed undisturbed rise to popularity in the recent past. Missing from this limelight though, are LED drives. LED drives may not be as popular as the LED but it is critical for its operation and just like the LED modules,  LED drivers  are available in a broad array of quality and technical properties. This makes it hard to understand them. LEDs are primarily designed to run on low voltage. Unfortunately, the most available power supplied in many places is the AC current. The  LED driver , therefore, rectifies the AC to DC. The drives also protect the LEDs from the fluctuation of current or voltage. A fluctuation of the voltage supplied could case current supplied to also vary. This will consequently cause light output to vary or degrade fast due to elevated temperatures since the current is directly proportional to the light output. LED drives are primarily divided into two types; Constant current Constant voltage In this article, we will feature the

Blockchain: Understanding Its Uses and Implications

Image
Blockchain The blockchain is a time-stamped series of unchangeable record of data which is managed by a cluster of computers that don’t belong to any single entity. Each of these blocks of data is secured and bound to one another by cryptographic principles, in this case, blockchain. Since it does not have a central authority,  blockchain  can be said to be the very definition of a democratized system. It a shared immutable system hence the information contained therein is available for all to see. Blockchain offers a simple but convenient way of passing information from A to B safely. A party to the transaction initiates the process by creating a block. The block is then verified by thousands or even millions of computers which are distributed across the net. The block is then added to a chain that is then stored across the internet. To falsify this single record, one would need to falsify the entire chain in millions of instances which is virtually impossible. Uses of block

How to Setup the Arduino MKR 1300

Image
MKR 1300 The Arduino MKR 1300 comes equipped with the ATMEL SAMD21 bridged with a LoRa module thus allowing for remote IoT applications for instance mining, off-shore rigs, and farms. It has been designed to integrate SAMD21’s low power consumption and high performance while maintaining Arduino’s ease of use. Setting up the MKR 1300 Step1: Arduino IDE Download the latest Arduino IDE from their official website. Step 2: Installing Arduino IDE in the board Start the IDE. Give a couple of minutes for it to open up. Click on Tools, then select Board and then click on Boards Manager. Enter ‘MKR’ on the board manager’s search bar. From the results, select the result “ Arduino SAMD Boards ” and then click install. This process takes some time so be patient. You could also enter ‘Zero’ into Boards Manager’s search bar, among the results will be  “Arduino SAMD Boards”  which contains the Arduino MKR 1300. Click on the “Install” button and the board information will be autom
